Financial Fitness for the After School Program
This program is designed to teach children in grades 2-6. In these lessons, children will be introduced to the following: basic concepts of money, how money is earned, how money is used, the basic purpose and role of banks and the banking, the concept of interest, how to balance a checkbook, how savings and checking accounts work, how credit and credit cards work, the benefits and cost of consumer credit, and the importance of the responsible use of credit. Children will also learn about creating a basic personal budget and will also learn to do computations involving 10% sales tax. At the end of the lessons, students will be able to identify basic budget concepts.
